When Brent Mason looks at Kennedy Randolph, he doesn’t see the awkward, sweet girl who grew up next door. He sees a self-assured, stunning woman…who wants to crush the most intimate - and prized - parts of his anatomy beneath the heels of her Christian Louboutins.
Brent has never let the loss of his leg in a childhood accident affect his ability to lead a fulfilling life. He sets high goals–and then he reaches them.
And now he has his sights set on Kennedy.**When Kennedy looks at Brent Mason, all she sees is the selfish, Abercrombie & Fitch catalogue-worthy teenager who humiliated her in high school to join the popular crowd. A crowd that made those years a living hell.
She’s not a lovesick social outcast anymore - she’s a DC prosecutor with a long winning streak behind her. Brent is the opposing attorney in her next case and she thinks it’s time to put him through a little hell of his own.
But things aren’t exactly working out that way.
Because every fiery exchange has her wondering if he’s as passionate in the bedroom as he is in the courtroom. Each argument and objection only makes him want her more. In the end, Brent and Kennedy may just find themselves in love…or in contempt of court.

APPEALED is a sexy, humorous romance about first crushes, second chances and the final verdict of the heart.

Book 3 in The Legal Briefs series. This book can be read as a standalone, as can the previous 2 books in the series.

So we finally come to Brent Mason’s story. Unlike his partners, Brent comes from old money. His family are rich. That doesn’t mean they aren’t close, oh no, they are as close as can be… A bit too close for Brent’s comfort at times. Ever the bachelor, he is the last singleton standing from the close group he calls friends as well as partners in the legal firm they set up together. He is happy for them all, but he intends to remain single and free to enjoy the women that flock to him; who wouldn’t? Having overcome the loss of his leg in an accident as a child, he has never let it stand in his way. (Excuse the pun – Brent would LOL!) He is laid back, loyal and genuine. He is also bloody good at his job and thrives in defending at times the indefensible. But his skills are about to be put to the test in more ways than one. When a face from his past stands opposite him in a courtroom, all bets are off. He intends to win his case, but will he win the woman as well?

Kennedy Randolph was your typical ugly duckling growing up. Never good enough for her glamorous mother or older sister, the one person she could rely on was the boy who lived next door (well in this case the nearest mansion). They were best friends and nothing could come between them; or so she thought. Suddenly her best friend became her nemesis and her final years in school were hell. Now she is back. Beautiful, glammed up to the max and a kick arse prosecutor to boot. She intends to show Brent he was silly to disregard her all those years ago, making him pay for the hurt he caused… that’s if she can avoid falling into bed with him first.

If you have read an Emma Chase book before, you will know that her books are full of humour, are light hearted and perfectly enjoyable. But above all else, Emma writes the most awesome males. They tend to lead her books and it seems to be her forte. She gets into a man’s mind so well and unlike some authors, realistically as well. I think it makes her books that little bit unique and I cannot think of a better author for this type of male led romantic comedy. Appealed is no different to any of its predecessors.

The final book in the series, Appealed was the perfect finale for what has been a bloody brilliant series. 1 woman, 3 men and 1 law firm. Each story has been different and each characters personality so far removed from the previous characters book. Brent so didn’t disappoint. I had loved him from book 1 for the laid back, loyal guy he came across as. Rich, but having endured hardships, he wears his heart on his sleeve, is grounded, and is the balanced voice of reason throughout the series. He is very much the chaser in his story, and Kennedy is the perfect woman for him. Kennedy challenges him in more ways than one, she is one tough dudette. Confident, hard arsed and spectacular at her job, Brent remains her only weakness, and the only person that may or may not be able to crack that hard exterior.

A brilliant conclusion to another fab series by the awesomeness that is Emma Chase. I love her characters, the situations she puts them in, the fun, frolics and swoon worthy moments that they all eventually lead to. I highly recommend Appealed and the previous 2 books in the series – Sustained and Overruled. I now wait with baited breath on her next releases. They are an automatic one-click and an absolute joy to read.
