Series: MC Sinner's Next Generation #1
I am the good girl, the one who does no wrong. Daughter to a ferocious and strong MC President, I know what protection feels like. Until one night changes everything - and not a single person in the world can protect me from it, not even my dad. Suffocating. Alone. Desperate. I let my problems live deep inside until there is no longer anywhere to run. I need an escape. Anything to make the pain go away. Trouble comes for me, and I don't fight it. I tried so hard to believe in what I was, But nobody understood. Not until him. Not until Lucas. He sees me. He believes in me. He refuses to let me drown. He’s my way out. My escape. But Lucas is forbidden. He’s a cop. I’m in danger. And my father is trying to protect what can’t be protected. There can only be one outcome. Pandemonium.

Book 1 in the MC Sinners Next Generation series. This is a spin-off of the hugely successful MC Sinners series, featuring the kids of the characters we fell in love with in that series. You do not need to have read MC Sinners to enjoy Pandemonium, however I advise you do, as you will get a better picture of some of the characters and the environment in which the story takes place.
Ava is the daughter of Jackson, President of the Hell’s Knight Motorcycle Club and his beloved wife Serenity. As the Princess of the MC she has been protected her whole life not just by an overbearing father, but also the rest of the MC whom she calls her family. Now in her early 20’s she is ready to gain some independence by moving out of the family home. But protection isn’t always a bad thing, especially when Jackson’s enemies lay around every corner.
Lucas Black is a man struggling to stay afloat. Following the death of his wife in childbirth, his daughter Shylie became his world. Everything was perfect. He has his daughter and a new wife that treated Shylie as her own, that is until tragedy strikes once again. As his world crumbles around him and life reaches depths even lower than he thinks could be possible, it is his work as a detective on the local force that keeps him moving forward.
One evening Ava and Lucas’ lives cross paths. He becomes the only person she can turn to, and she becomes his reason to breathe. But their friendship will cause complications for them both, not just with Ava’s MC family, but also with Lucas’s past. It would be stupid to continue, and utter madness to fall in love…
Okay, so I had really been looking forward to this book because I have been a huge Bella Jewel since the very first MC Sinners book. I loved that series, but it also meant that I had high expectations for Pandemonium. So it seriously disappoints me to say that although I liked this book, I certainly didn’t love it. The storyline worked, as did the characters. But for me the chopping and changing of timelines didn’t, and some of the storyline felt undeveloped and rushed. It just lacked the usual magic that I expect from Bella’s books. I was also left confused at the age difference between Ava and Lucas, especially as he called her Kid throughout; which just felt wrong in a really icky way.
In Bella’s defence, I think often the first book in a spin-off series can suffer with explaining situations, characters, connections and backstory, especially those that have an ensemble cast of characters that will be explored in coming books. I honestly believe that Pandemonium is a prime example of that. So because of the dreaded first book confusion curse, I really do recommend that you read the original series as you could be lost and somewhat confused as to the many different faces that pop up.
A liked, but not loved start to a new MC series by an experienced and talented MC romance author. Will I be reading book 2? Hell yes! I am still a huge fan. One book doesn’t make a series, and I have faith that this could develop into another great series for fans of Bella “MC” Jewel.
