The second scorching novel in the USA Today bestselling Cartel trilogy from the smash-hit author Lili St Germain.
They say love conquers all.
It's a lie.
Five days a week, I dressed in smart business clothes. I painted my face, and went to work as an accountant. But nothing about my life was normal.
For eight years I had been the property of the Gypsy Brothers Motorcycle Club. I laundered their money so well they'd never let me leave. My only glimmer of light was the man I loved. The man who had saved me.
Dornan.
His love had been the only thing that kept the demons at bay. But he'd become so immersed in the cartel's brutal business that I hardly knew him anymore.
Dornan had been my salvation, but he was also my undoing.
Would he pull me down into the darkness until he destroyed me? Could I save him?
Did I even want to?

Kingpin provides the perfect window into the past as we continue on Mariana, Dornan and John’s journey into the abyss of complicated love coated in deplorable darkness. Kingpin still holds the grittiness of Cartel, along with the twisted gory suspense of the Gypsy Brothers MC novellas, providing a gutsy intricate reading experience that I simply cannot get enough of.

Mariana has been with Dornan Ross, the VP of the Gypsy Brothers MC for 9 years, only leaving her apartment with consent and a chaperone, she is still the property of Emilio Ross, Il Sangue Cartel boss and Dornan’s Father. A man who would slit his own Mother’s throat if it meant getting ahead. He is ruthless, barbaric and completely sub-human, and the only reason she is still breathing is because she is valuable to the cause. Her art in money laundering is legendary, making the Cartel and the MC millions. Her Fathers debt has been paid ten-fold but she still remains a prisoner, a pawn, and although her love for Dornan is strong, she fears that even with him in her corner, time is running out.

A burner phone is the start of a friendship that gains ground and becomes something bordering on partnership. John may be the President of the MC but it’s becoming apparent that it is the Ross family holding the cards. With a junkie wife and a beautiful 14-year-old Daughter starting to turn heads, John has hit a crossroads and it seems the only person who sees him his is best friend’s Mistress – but no one takes what is unlawfully theirs without losing something valuable, such as their life…

Mariana is a strong and vibrant character even if the world she lives in is painted with bare walls and years of misery. Love can conquer all, or so she was led to believe, but when that love starts to change, when the man you would die for starts to become a monster, what options does a glorified captive mistress have left? A friend, a gun and access to millions of the Cartel funds…. because sometimes you just need a plan B, followed by a lot of courage.

God, I love these books. It all started with the Novella’s and now we go back to the past when Dornan Ross was slightly tolerable and a little more human. He will never be book boyfriend material but there is no denying he is one scary arse shit-hot villain and I just love him for that alone.

Lili’s work is not for the faint of heart but if you love grit, suspense, rough sex and a penchant for revenge, then you can’t got far wrong with this series. It was also great to finally get acquainted with John too, the man is the bomb! #TeamJohn all the way!

An absolute killer of a read!
