Nicole Alessi.Soon to be ex-wife of Hollywood's biggest star, Victor’s latest client and his boss's daughter.
In such a high profile divorce, they can't afford any extra drama. Luckily, neither one of them has anything to hide. Unless you count the mind blowing sex they had… Once… Twice… Three times all those years ago.
As long as they leave the past where it belongs, they’ll be fine. But with her wearing those tight dresses and him giving her those heated glances, keeping their hands to themselves is proving to be more difficult than either one of them realized.
It won't be long before the paparazzi start to smell smoke, and where there's smoke...

Book 3 in the Hearts series. You do not need to have read the previous 2 books in this series to enjoy Elastic  Hearts, however I insist you do as they are both amazing reads with Paper heart (#2) being my favourite second chance romance EVER!

Victor Reuben has watched his best friends and sister find love over the past few years. He is happy for them but it isn’t for him. He is committed to his career as a top divorce lawyer, forging a pathway to finally making partner. He likes his women fast and without expectation. The only woman he ever let get too close was Nicole, a woman he broke his own rules with and whom he hooked up with on several occasions. When he found out she was the daughter of his new boss he knew he had to end things, little did he know how much of a gut punch he would feel when he found out she was getting engaged to another man just 3 weeks later. Then she walks back into his life and he has the much desired partnership in his grasp; getting it however, maybe his downfall.

Nicole Alessi is getting divorced from her film star husband. The fairytale is over and the happily ever after nil and void. The relationship with Gabriel was always so fast and furious. She was happy and in love once, but as Gabe’s star shined brighter their relationship lost its sparkle and fast. So with her marriage breakdown in the spotlight she turns to her father’s law firm to end it for good. What she didn’t expect was to have to deal with Victor, the one that got away all those years ago. The spark and the want is still there, but can she leave the past in the past or will it come back to bite her on the behind?

A celebrity divorce is a paparazzi dream, but a relationship between a lawyer and the wife of the biggest star in Hollywood who he is representing would be the biggest scandal of all!

I have really loved this series, not just because Claire Contreras’s writing is so good or that each book has been a different take on a second chance romance. It is because I have loved the characters she has written about. From Estelle and Oliver to Mia and Jensen and now Nicole and Victor, each book is told in duel POV so you get all parts of the story which in second chance romances is a must in my opinion. You get the full story warts and all, and it makes the book all the better for it.

I have loved Victor since book 1, so I was looking forward to getting more of his story. He was a lot more alpha dog than I expected to be honest, but because of his line of work it totally suited him. Nicole is a cool character. You can’t help but wonder if she rushed in to marriage with Gabe because of Victor, but I like to think she did. But don’t expect insta- reconnection. This is a slow burn because of the situation they both find themselves in, but that is what is fun about the book. I loved the obstacles that they themselves place and the obvious desire throughout that they battle so hard against.

It in all honesty isn’t my favourite book of the 3, but Paper Hearts was always going to be a massive book to follow because it blew me away. However, this is still a great book and like those before it a very different take on second chance romance. I am sad to wave goodbye to this great group of characters.

Another good read in a brilliant series.
