It was complicated, it was also just the beginning.A decision.A simple choice. There is always that one moment in life where things could have been different. That one moment where you could have chosen a path that would lead you down a certain road. A different life. It was easier to pretend that we were still best friends, and that she was my girl and I was her boy. Pretending was better than knowing the truth...I. Ruined. Us.I had her. I lost her. I love her.All I did was complicate us.

Book 1 in the Good Ol’ Boys series.

Alex or Half- Pint as she is known, has been in love with her best friend for as long as she can remember. She has chased her 4 boys around since she could walk and she loves them all like brothers, except for Lucas. Her and Lucas, although 2 years apart have always shared a special bond, a closeness, and she loves him more than he will ever know.

Complicate Me is a romance that will span years. From childhood friendships, to young people who love but who also hurt each other. This is Lucas and Alex’s story. It isn’t easy or straightforward. It’s complicated and frustrating, but is nonetheless a beautiful love that spans the years. Will they ever find a way to be together, or will obstacles and indeed their own actions get in the way to prevent their happily ever after?

Princess Emma

What. A. Read! This book has every emotion you want in a love story and so much more. It puts the capital A in Angst and grapples with your heart strings from the very start. The characters in this book, well I am seriously invested in them all. I feel like I know them personally, that I have walked in their shoes. And this is down to the pure quality of M. Robinson’s writing. This isn’t a fluffy, cookie cutter romance. M. Robinson has created a world and a life for each of these characters and I for one will not rest until I know everything there is to know about them.

I kind of don’t want to give too much away about the storyline. I think the synopsis is vague for a reason and I don’t want to spoil that. What I can say is that you need to buckle yourself in for a journey between 2 soulmates that destiny has different ideas for. It’s not an insta-love as such, it’s a slow build that starts in childhood and spans nearly 2 decades. The world seems against them, as do those around them, but most of the damage, hurt and mistakes are down to their own actions. (I am stopping here, but I could write on and on about these two amazing characters and their story.)

If you want a moving, angst ridden love story that encompasses childhood friendships, family, dealing with the consequences of the mistakes young adults make, and bonds that will never be broken, this is a book that you can’t miss. I am now so sucked into this series, I am off to read Book 2 Forbid Me, Jacob’s story. Wish me luck, I am so going to need it.
