She’s good at achieving her goals…
College senior Sabrina James has her whole future planned out: graduate from college, kick butt in law school, and land a high-paying job at a cutthroat firm. Her path to escaping her shameful past certainly doesn’t include a gorgeous hockey player who believes in love at first sight. One night of sizzling heat and surprising tenderness is all she’s willing to give John Tucker, but sometimes, one night is all it takes for your entire life to change.
But the game just got a whole lot more complicated
Tucker believes being a team player is as important as being the star. On the ice, he’s fine staying out of the spotlight, but when it comes to becoming a daddy at the age of twenty-two, he refuses to be a bench warmer. It doesn’t hurt that the soon-to-be mother of his child is beautiful, whip-smart, and keeps him on his toes. The problem is, Sabrina’s heart is locked up tight, and the fiery brunette is too stubborn to accept his help. If he wants a life with the woman of his dreams, he’ll have to convince her that some goals can only be made with an assist.

Book 4 in the Off-Campus series. Each book can be read as a standalone, however you will have a better reading experience if you read them in order. This book in particular relates to book 3 and Tucker and Sabrina’s story really starts at the end of The Score.

John Tucker has spent the last few years living with his best friends and team mates, playing Hockey and enjoying college life. As graduation nears he is looking towards his future and where his life will go from here. One thing he knows for sure is that the NHL won’t feature. No, his future will be in business and moving back to Texas where he can focus on forging a successful career. That is until he lays eyes on Sabrina James. One night is all it takes for him to become addicted. Little does he know that it also only takes one night to change your whole life too.

Sabrina James is on a well-planned and carefully choreographed pathway that leads to an Ivy League law school and a highly paid, successful career at a top law firm. She won’t let her shitty background mess that up for her and she certainly won’t let a man. She works her butt off to pay for college and hook-ups are just that. One night, no attachments and only jocks; although absolutely no Hockey players thanks to her hatred of a certain Dean Di Laurentis. That is until a certain John Tucker knocks on the wall she has surrounded herself with.

So when things suddenly set down a course neither expect, will they be able to work together as a team or will Sabrina’s stubborn independent streak ruin something that could be as perfect as it is unexpected.

Firstly, I am seriously loving this series. In fact I have yet to read a book by Elle Kennedy that I haven’t loved. Having read the previous 3 books back to back, I seriously hated the fact that I had to wait for what seemed like forever for this book. (Okay not forever, it was only a few months LOL!) I am not giving away any spoilers by saying that Sabrina ends up pregnant; hell it’s how The Score ends and it’s in the synopsis. It’s how we get there and how they go forward in this read, because like any lover of this series we were all left thinking how the hell did Tucker end up with his best friends arch nemesis.

I am not going to give away any spoilers here, but this is a huge journey for both of them emotionally. These are two 22 year olds with big plans for their futures and it all changes with 2 blue lines on a stick. Tucker, well he just takes it in his stride. He knows how he feels about Sabrina and his loyalty and commitment is unwavering. But for Sabrina, who has only ever had one goal in mind, is fiercely independent and who also has abandonment issues, the change in direction seriously throws her for a loop.

Whilst Tucker is someone that will make your heart swoon, Sabrina is a little harder to love at times. But no-one is perfect and we all have our insecurities. So the question is… Will her background, dreams and insecurities spoil their future? Or will it be Tucker’s friend and family that throw a spanner in the works? Only one way to find out.

So as our 4 housemates graduate, other players are introduced. Does this mean this series will continue? I really hope so. I love college romance, sports romance and Ice hockey players. This series has all 3, which means I am in book paradise. Keep them coming Elle, this is one series I am not ready to say goodbye to yet.
