Warning: This isn’t a romance, but instead a tale of love between two despairing people, from two different worlds, both aching for something more.

Debbie Reynolds is a runaway, New York City-bound. Living on the road comes with many challenges—fighting for her next meal, seeking safe places to sleep, and dodging men with less than honorable intentions, all while searching for meaning in a life she finds painful and pointless.

Damon “Preacher” Fox, vice president of the Silver Demons Motorcycle Club, has been in prison for club-related crimes. As his release draws near, he begins to reevaluate his choices in life, realizing that if he stays with the club, this won’t be his last stint behind bars. Suddenly Preacher finds himself doubting everything he’s ever known, wishing for a life beyond the club.

When Preacher and Debbie’s paths cross, they find in each other a sense of peace they had been lacking. But life is about to catch up with Preacher, and Debbie, desperate to keep the one person who’s ever shown her any kindness, finds herself caught between forces far deadlier and more powerful than she could have ever imagined.

This is Debbie and Preacher’s story.

At the end, we should all go back to the beginning, if only to remind ourselves that we once lived.

Series: Undeniable #5

5 Crowns

Book 5 in the outstanding MC romance series Undeniable. This is very much an ongoing series and the books must be read in the order in which they were written.

Damon “Preacher” Fox is dying. Having kept his illness secret from the daughter he adores, she now arrives distraught and angry that both he and her husband Deuce waited until his final days to tell her. Preacher himself just needs her by his side, but he has secrets that he has always kept from her. Secrets that had an effect on her life, and he finally needs to confess them so she knows the truth about him, about her mother and about her family. So Preacher goes back to the beginning and tells her the story of how he met her mother Debbie, what she meant to him and things that he has never told her before.

Undeniable was a game changing book for me. Up until that point I had never read MC romance, so it blew me away and showed me that actually I liked my books a little darker, gritty and a love story that is twisted and not so straight forward. Eva’s dad Preacher has been there from the start. A formidable President and probably the only man to give Deuce a run for his money. Having said that when I found out that he would get a book, knowing that he was dying I wondered whether it was needed in the series or whether it was just a series filler until we got to the book that I know every fan of this series is waiting for. So before I go further, let me assure you that this isn’t a filler. This book is important because actually what has happened during the series and particularly within Deuce and Eva’s relationship all comes back to Preacher and decisions he made rightly or wrongly all those years ago.

Preacher and Debbie are an unlikely match. From different sides of the country and tracks they find themselves thrust together. Preacher is already the VP of the Silver Demons, but is out following a 2 year stretch in jail. At this point he doesn’t know whether to continue on the path he is on or cut loose from the restraints of club life. Whilst on the road he meets a runaway by the name of Debbie, and soon finds himself wanting to help this young girl who interests him more than she should. But life has a way of catching up with you and soon not just Preacher, but also Debbie find themselves drawn into the often harsh and political world of an outlaw motorcycle club. As we are warned in the synopsis, this isn’t a romance, but it is love even in the violent and seedy underworld that they live in.

It would be wrong of me not to mention the delay in this book because let’s face 3 years is a long old time. Madeline has got loads of stick for this, some completely harsh and uncalled for in my opinion. So the pressure for her on the release of this book must have been HUGE! This book had to be bloody good or the trolls would have a field day. Well, all I can say is she seriously hasn’t let us down with Preacher’s story. This book was so much more than what I was expecting and I loved stepping back into what is still my favourite MC series. MS seriously hasn’t lost her unique talent of weaving a story that links every book in little ways that you don’t see coming. Eva still kicks arse as does the aging Deuce, but it is Preacher that shines in this book. Who knew how loving, loyal and swoony the old boy was many years ago.

So having now finished a book I have waiting so long for I find myself waiting for the next. ZZ’s book has been a long time coming and I know that I am not alone in my desperation for it. I hope we don’t have to wait another 3 years, but if we do, well I know it will be worth waiting for.
