I’ve loved him as long as I can remember.
The gangly boy with big brown eyes and unruly hair who grew up into an intoxicating man. He wears scruff like he invented it and ambles with a swagger that makes panties drop.
Killian Shepard.
We grew up together. We played Ghost in the Graveyard. Had our own rock band. It didn’t matter that he was five years older than me. It didn’t matter that he looked at me as a kid sister even as I grew into woman. It didn’t even matter when he left me behind to go to college and start his adult life.
He’d be back. He was always meant to be mine.
He came back, all right. But instead of smelling of promises, he stunk of betrayal. And he destroyed me—us—the day he married my sister instead of me.
So I did the only thing a girl like me in my position could do.
I got my revenge. I married his brother, Kael. Now we’re one big happy f*cking family.
***mature content appropriate for 18+

This is a standalone book and doesn’t relate to any other books by K.L Kreig.

The day you marry should be the happiest day of your life. But how can you be happy when your heart belongs to somebody else? To a man that is ingrained in your very soul? This is the dilemma that faces Maverick DeSoto. Does she walk away from Kael Shepard, her best friend and protector? Or does she marry him knowing she is still in love with his brother Killian? The man she has loved for as long as she can remember, who also happens to be married to her sister and who shattered her heart into a million pieces?

So that is as far as I can go with a story overview as you really need to go in as blindly as I did. If you do you will finish the book with your heart having been ripped out, stomped on a few times and then put back together. So folks, avoid those pesky spoiler reviews, they really will ruin what is a brilliant journey.

So before any haters start, this isn’t a love triangle per se. Yes there are 3 characters involved in this love story, but no cheating goes on in the flesh. This is more about how you mourn a love, whilst trying to build a love with someone else. How you mend a broken heart to fall in love with someone else. Poor Maverick really has had her heart broken by Killian. Could she really build a love with his brother Kael? Someone that has always stood by her side and loved her more than she will ever know?

This journey is an emotional one. You will want to slap a few heads and you will will her to choose the right brother. But the twists and turns will come unexpectedly and it isn’t until the end when you find out what choice she makes. The author notes at the end that readers will be very much placed in 2 camps and I wholeheartedly agree with her. My camp won (btw), but the person who ultimately won in this book was Maverick.

This is my first K.L Kreig book, and admittedly it has sat on my kindle for a good few weeks. But aren’t they always the best books? They sit there, and you keep eyeing it up, but then a favourite author drops a book and your eyes are swayed. DO NOT MAKE THAT MISTAKE. This book is EPIC and deserves to be read ASAP.

It should be everything I hate as I am not a great fan of shifting time lines, but I have to say the author got it spot on with this story. It layered the story beautifully, and because of differing POV’s it had me all twisted up inside. Seriously… this book puts the capital A in angst.

An original story that is written beautifully and will keep you guessing right until the end. An absolute MUST READ!

Brotherhood is what Bull bleeds and all that he knows. Being the king of The Devil’s Dust and surrounded by easy women was his everyday… until having his heart broke rooted him to the bottom of a whiskey bottle. Heartbroken, and drowning in lost memories he’s unsure of the direction of his life, when the answer – consisting of a terrified Mexican girl- nearly knocks him off his feet. Determined to get his act together and rectify his club, he rides to Texas for answers, only to be confronted with the emotional ghosts he isn’t ready to deal with. He sees Anahi, and he wants her. But she may come with more baggage than Bull is ready for.
Anahi used to be prim and proper. She used to wear dresses and keep up appearances to impress people she didn’t know. I guess you could say she was a fucking lady. But that was when she lived in Mexico with her parents. Before her uncle turned on her. Before, the only man she ever loved, her step-brother, betrayed her. Before she was forced to be a drug mule for the Cartel. Evening gowns a lost memory, expensive heels traded for boots, and a nine millimeter in her hand instead of a limited edition purse. Anahi sets aside everything she’s ever known including the fairytale stories her mother told her about America. She’s angry, determined, and looking for a way out.

Book 5 in the very brilliant MC series, The Devil’s Dust. I recommend reading the previous 4 books as some of this storyline relates to them and it will give you a much better understanding of both the character’s and their club.

Bull has lost his way. President of the infamous Devil’s Dust MC based in L.A, he has spent the last few years nursing a broken heart at the bottle of any kind of alcohol he can get his hands on. Bab’s was never his old lady and he broke every club rule by hooking up with her, but worse than that, he can’t forgive himself for being unable to protect her. Following yet another night drinking, he literally bumps into a young, distressed Mexican girl. Before he knows it she is taken away kicking and screaming. But there is something about this girl that he can’t forget and he is determined to get answers.

Anahi Gomez was born into a family that walks on the wrong side of the law. Following the death of her mother and the later death of her father, she finds herself under her Uncle Benito’s protection with the step-brother she adores. But the person she needs protecting from most is her Uncle. After being held captive for 3 years, and having to endure watching the boy she thought she loved slowly change, she knows she has to escape. But life isn’t that easy. The only way she can escape is by muling [EA1] drugs to Texas. For her it is a risk worth taking. She wants to escape the hell of the Cartel and finally live the American dream.

Will Bull be able to save Anahi? Or will it be Anahi doing the saving?

There are not many authors who would be able to get me out of a MC book slump; but it is guaranteed M.N Forgy would be one of them. I have championed this series from the start and I am so pleased I have. This series just gets better and better. With each instalment M.N raises the bar, but more than that she changes the flow of the series. What do I mean by that? Well, each book is different, no two storylines are the same and the tempo beats to a different drum every time. She is able to do all this whilst keeping elements of previous storylines alive, so that they weave throughout each book, connecting the dots and keeping you as the reader on your toes.

I have been waiting for Bull’s story for ages. I have loved him since he was first introduced in Shadow and Dani’s books. A true Alpha, my heart wept when he lost Babs. I seriously worried he was forever destined to be a lone wolf leading his pack without a Luna alongside him; because let’s face it, he is one hard-core president, so it would take someone special. But in Anahi he finds the perfect mix of innocence and darkness, he just has to hold on to her, and that may be the hardest part for several reasons. I loved his story, it totally worked and it was great to see him re-emerge from his fog and take the bull by the horns again (scuse the pun!)

Well done M.N Forgy, once again you have delivered a great MC book with a cast of characters that I love. As Hot as it is dark, your writing gets better and better with each book you give us. Long live the Devil’s Dust and roll on book 6. Loving Kane (hint… hint!!)

If you enjoy MC Romance, then this series is one of the best.

Our history made things harder.
We were associates out of convenience. We tolerated each other.I never saw her that way.She never saw me that way.She and I were never meant to be friends.
You’re not supposed to fall for your best friend’s enemy, even if the enemy is YOUR ex-best friend.
This isn’t the story of falling in love with your best friend. It’s about falling out of hate.

The Trouble with Before is technically a standalone romance. It does however, come under the umbrella of the very brilliant If I Break series. So yes, you can read it as a standalone, but I highly recommend that you read the previous 5 books to get to know the characters, their history (which is an integral part of the story) and the mistakes of the past. It really will enhance your reading experience if you do, and this series isn’t one you should miss.

Lisa really is the product of a bad childhood. Having grown up in a household with no father and a drunk as a mother, she always felt her pathway was destined to go in one direction; and then she fell in love. But that love was very wrong and the repercussions of that love have spread far and wide, hurting all those touched by it. When once again she finds herself at rock bottom following her supposed fresh start, a man that she was best friends with through association. A man that should hate her, comes to her rescue. But will their history become their fate? Or will he see the true her inside?

Aiden has always loved the Scott’s. His best friend Chris is like a brother and Mrs Scott is like a mother, having lost his many years ago. However his respect for Mr Scott vanished the moment secrets came to light that blew everyone’s world apart. Now he has to find Lisa, his and Chris’s oldest friend or his frenemy for want of a better world. What he finds is a shell of a woman, wrecked by the mistakes that seem to follow her around. But like the friend he is, he is determined to help find her sparkle again. Little does he know that she might just spark something in him as well.

Okay, stopping there as I really don’t want to give any spoilers.

So as I have already said. This book needs to be read after the others in my opinion. Why? Because if you do you will be sucked back into this world before even turning the first page. If you haven’t, then without doubt you will enjoy it, but man, if you know these characters you will just devour it. I seriously struggled to put it down.

I don’t want to go much further into it then I have already, but Lisa, well she has serious issues that really stem from childhood. But it’s her mistakes that have left her very alone. Aiden was her best friend, alongside Chris during their formative years, but it was Chris was the cement that held them together and he is no longer around. Aiden has been hurt by Lisa’s actions, but he isn’t ready to give up on her like everyone else. He has enough on his plate, being a commitment phobe with a supposed no strings girl… friend that has become a little clingy (added light relief to the angst, she is a nutter LOL!!), but he recognises the truth about Lisa, even if she doesn’t herself.

So in all honesty I went in loving Aiden, but I did have major issues with Lisa’s character. I wasn’t sure whether I would once again give a 5 Crown review for a story about a character that I disliked so much in the previous books. But once again, as with the previous book in this series, Portia Moore had me feeling unexpected warm emotions for this character as we delved further into her mind, getting her story warts and all.

So as sad as I am that this story looks to finally be at an end, I do so with a gratefulness that I stumbled upon this unique and well thought out series. You will get all the “feels” during the journey, but it’s a journey that I can’t recommend enough. Portia Moore is a fabulous writer, who tells a story with true heart and rings out every emotion as she does it. The story and characters she has created in this series are first class and they will all stay with me. I really, really look forward to future titles from her.

A book and indeed series that is not to be missed.

When her mother’s incessant matchmaking hits an all-time high, Georgie Archibald does what any sensible woman would do: she flees the country.
Seeking refuge in the picturesque seaside village of Vernazza, Italy, Georgie’s only plan is to lie low, gorge herself on gelato, and let the wine and waves wash her troubles away... that is until she wakes up in a bed that belongs to the most romantic-looking man she’s ever seen.
After going out of his way to rescue her, the former London financier turned mysterious recluse makes it clear that despite acting as her white knight, he has no plans to co-star in her fairytale.
But Georgie isn’t asking for his heart—she’s merely intrigued. After all, Gianluca isn’t just gorgeous—tall and tan from days spent in the sun—his touch sets her world on fire. With him, Georgie experiences the most intoxicating passion she’s ever known, and it only takes a few steamy nights for her to realize that sometimes running away from trouble is the best way to find it.

A Place in the Sun is a standalone romance. However, if you have read R.S Grey’s, The Summer Games: Settling the Score, you will recognise our heroine as she is a secondary character in that book. You do not need to have read it though to fully enjoy this one.

Georgie Archibald needs space. Space from her mother’s need to match-make and meddle in her sad and pitiful love life. She seriously needs to find herself. So what better way than placing a pin in a map and hopping on a plane to get herself one, right?

Finding herself in a beautiful Italian harbour village, she is determined to find Mr Right. Unfortunately after arriving looking her absolute vomit covered worst, the one to come to her rescue may just be her knight in shining armour; now she just has to convince him of that.

Gianluca has spent the last 5 years back in the Italian village he called home, every summer of his childhood. A virtual recluse, he is happy to play the town grump whilst he recovers from his tragic past. When a British girl crashes into his life, he makes it plain that he has no interest in even a friendship with her, but she is like a rash that won’t go away. Little does he realise that she may just be everything he never knew he needed.

Firstly, I have to say that okay, it didn’t surprise me that I would enjoy this book. I have read most of R.S Grey’s previous work and I always enjoy them; some more than others of course. But this book for me is a real step up in her writing in general. It wouldn’t be a R.S Grey book without her humour and the quirkiness that we expect, but this book had so much more than that; it has real heart.

So taking out the elements that I have come to expect as a given from this author, what really struck me was how descriptive and atmospheric this book was. I read it and seriously felt like I had spent my weekend in Italy. The writing is beautiful, and the romance is both heart-warming and heart-breaking. It was a book that had real light and shade and that wasn’t just in the little bubble R.S Grey has created, but also in the characters we meet.

Georgie is totally zany and I loved her. She just has a heart of gold and her goofiness and love of life is special. As for Gianluca, well he is a complex character that has a history that I will leave you to read about. He is difficult and moody, but beneath his hard exterior lies one hot Italian.

So as much as I love this author, and would recommend her to anyone, A Place in the Sun will be number 1 one on the list. A beautiful, atmospheric romance with a good dash of goof and fun. R. S Grey’s best work to date and one of my top reads of 2016… FACT!

Part 1 in a 3 book series called Preppy: The Life & Death of Samuel Clearwater. This is related to the awesome King series which includes the stories of King and also Bear. It is essential that you read these books in my opinion, because if you have, you like me, will be seriously desperate for this book.

So anyone who reads my reviews will know that at this point I will give you a brief, spoiler free overview of the story. On this occasion I find myself stuck with what to say to be honest. This book as I have previously suggested is the one everyone has been waiting for. Preppy above all the other awesome characters in this collection of dark and violent stories, is the star; and that is for many reasons. I am not going to go into why as I would hate to give away spoilers relating to the story arc as a whole, but if you have read them you will know; believe me.

Samuel Clearwater is one fucked up dude, but one that will also melt your heart. He is dangerous, dark, a sexual deviant; seriously the list could go on. But in this one character you also have someone who is loyal to those he loves and has a kindness to him and light-hearted personality that is such an opposite to everything we think we should know about him. Preppy: The life & Death of Samuel Clearwater is his story warts and all and I absolutely devoured it.

PEm circle 200

We go back in time to before the start of the original stories. We get to see the danger that Preppy can bring in the blink of an eye, but we are also introduced to Dre. Dre is a junkie, a hardened Heroin addict who has really hit rock bottom. From dark beginnings, she and Preppy form an unlikely bond. Don’t go in thinking this is hearts and roses… Have you read T.M Frazier’s take on romance? This is twisted and dark and at times pretty damn sick, but it is what it is and it works… or does it? As always with this authors books, you never quite know where the road will take you, but you are certain of a really wild ride. We delve further into Preppy, and what makes him tick. It isn’t pretty, but anyone who knows this character knows that as much as your stomach will be turned, you will laugh and cry with him as well; his humour filter knows no bounds. And this my friends is why I couldn’t get enough of this book. Yes at its core this book is a dark, dangerous novel, set in a world not many people would wish to visit. But it is also light and funny and shows a man who is charming and charismatic and has so much love to give if he lets himself love.

So guys, if you are yet to jump into the lives of those who inhabit Logan’s Beach… DO IT! These are books not to be missed. Preppy is a perfect addition, and yet another 5 Crown read from me for this author. He is as he calls himself a “Bad-Ass Mofo”, but one I dare you not to fall in love with. Bring on part 2!

From the NYT Bestselling author of MISTER O, comes a sexy new standalone romance…
Let me count the ways why falling into forbidden love is not my wisest move…1. She works with me every single day.Did I mention she's gorgeous, sweet, kind and smart?2. She works in my home.Playing with my five-year-old daughter. Teaching my little girl. Cooking for my princess. Which means…3. She's the nanny. And that makes her completely off-limits…But it doesn’t stop me from wanting her. All of her.
The other nannies in this city don't call him the Sexy One for nothing. My boss, the amazingly wonderful single father to the girl I take care of every day is ridiculously hot, like movie star levels with those arms, and those eyes, and that body. Not to mention, the way he dotes on his little girl melts me all over. But what really makes my knees weak are the times when his gaze lingers on me. In secret. When no one else is around.
I can't risk my job for a chance at something more…can I? But I don’t know how to resist him much longer either…

The Sexy One is a standalone romance, but anyone who has read Lauren Blakely’s recent releases will recognise the characters and a couple of cameo’s that appear.

Simon, oh Simon… be still my beating heart.

Simon is a 34 year old, single dad who is a very successful business investor. Having primary custody of his 5 year old daughter following his divorce, finding a Nanny that would work around his schedule and also be the perfect guardian for his daughter was always going to be a tall order… until Abby appeared. Now he just needs to make sure he ignores his attraction to her. Easier said than done.

Abby is a wiz at languages. To supplement her earnings from teaching part-time and to make sure she pays off the dreaded college loans, nannying is the perfect solution. Hayden is the sweetest little thing and her boss Simon, well, she has had some very unprofessional x-rated thoughts about him. So what happens when it appears the guy she has been crushing on, might just feel the same about her?

Will they remain professional? Or will their attraction sizzle and burn?

PEm circle 400

This book is called The Sexy One for a good reason; it is H.O.T.

I am seriously loving Lauren’s Blakely work at the moment. Yes, all her recent releases are standalones, but they are all linked in one way or another and it really works. We met both these characters in Mr. O, but who knew that their story would be this bloody good.

Simon, well just swoon. Who wouldn’t fall in love with a Chris Hemsworth lookalike who is the perfect Daddy? Well I certainly did. The chemistry between him and Abby really was electric, and because it is told in dual POV, you get every little bit of their story. The book has a bit of everything I like in a light-hearted romance. The story flowed and the characters were loveable. Equally sexy as it was funny, and without unnecessary drama. It was just a really enjoyable read and I look forward to the next few books to follow that’s for sure.

So if you need a book that will make you laugh and warm your heart, you need to read this book. Well done, Lauren, another fab read!

Book 3 in The Royals series. This is the conclusion of Ella and Reed’s story and because of the continuing storyline, it is important that you read the previous books before embarking on this one. In fact, if you haven’t read them stop reading this review now as it will contain some spoilers… you have been warned.

So Twisted Palace picks up from where we were left teetering on a cliff edge, wondering what would happen to Reed who had been arrested following the discovery of a murdered Brooke. Not only that but poor Ella not only having to contend with her boyfriend being carted off, she was blindsided by the appearance of her father; a stranger to her and a man presumed dead. Indeed folks, the plot had thickened and I along with many others couldn’t wait to find the answers to the many questions that this series has thrown up.

What I am not going to do at this point is go into too much of Twisted Palace’s storyline. What I can say is that both Reed and Ella are in for a tough ride in this book. Having finally found their happy place with each other, situations and people will now try to pull them apart. Reed is adamant he will protect Ella and his family from forces who conspire against them, and on Ella’s part she is determined to clear Reed’s name.

PEm circle 200

As with the previous books, more secrets will come to light as well as many lingering questions answered. Are the twists as dramatic and shocking as in the previous books in the series? Some, but for me not all. But it doesn’t take away the fact that this series and this family have captured the hearts and imagination of many a book nerd. This author duo are certainly a force to be reckoned with. Think the Emperor and Darth Vader, Ginger Rodgers and Fred Astaire, Batman and Robin. Jen Frederick and Elle Kennedy have found a perfect partnership… long may it continue.

So as we wave good-bye to Reed and Elle, I hope that the author’s will listen to their many fans. This series has so much more that could and should be explored. Everyone’s favourite Royal, Easton of course, but for me Gideon even more so. He has been an enigma throughout this series and I seriously need his story.

A great end to (I’m not going to say series) Reed and Ella’s story. If you haven’t read it yet, what are you waiting for!

From the NYT Bestselling author of MISTER O, comes a hot and hilarious new standalone...Here’s what you need to know about me — I’m well-off, well-hung and quick with a joke. Women like a guy who makes them laugh—and I don’t mean at the size of his d*ck. No, they want their funny with a side of huge… not to mention loyal. I’ve got all that plus a big bank account, thanks to my booming construction business. Yup. I know how to use all my tools.
Enter Natalie. Hot, sexy, smart, and my new assistant. Which makes her totally off limits...

Hey, I’m a good guy. Really. I do my best to stay far away from the kind of temptation she brings to work.
Until one night in Vegas…

Yeah, you’ve heard this one before. Bad news on the business front, drowning our sorrows in a few too many Harvey Wallbangers, and then I’m banging her. In my hotel room. In her hotel room. Behind the Titanic slot machine at the Flamingo (don’t ask). And before I can make her say “Oh God right there YES!” one more time, we’re both saying yes—the big yes—at a roadside chapel in front of a guy in press-on sideburns and a shiny gold leisure suit.

But it turns out what happened in Vegas didn’t stay in Vegas. And now, my dick doesn’t stay in my pants when she’s around. I try to resist. Honest. But the more we try to keep our hands to ourselves, the more we end up naked again, and the more time I want to spend with her fully clothed, too.
The question now is…do I take this woman to be my ex-wife?

Well Hung is a standalone romantic comedy, however if you have read both Big Rock and Mr O you will recognise the main protagonists as they played secondary characters in those books. You do not need to read them to enjoy Well Hung, but do as they are great reads as well.

Wyatt Hammer likes to see himself as a playboy. A skilled carpenter running a successful business, he has watched his twin brother and close friend fall in love. That’s not for him though, he is much too busy pleasing the ladies to focus on just one… or is he?

Natalie wants to become a Karate instructor full-time, but it isn’t that easy when you have bills to pay. Luckily her room-mates brother needed someone to organise the office for his carpentry business, and she is in her real element. She may kick arse when it comes to Karate, but organising is her thing. It’s just a shame her secret crush on Wyatt will stay just that. First rule of business; never sleep with your boss.

So when Wyatt and Natalie find themselves in Vegas following a business opportunity and with nothing else to do, they decide to do the full Vegas experience. So does what happen in Vegas stay in Vegas? Well I will leave that for you to find out.

PEm 180

I am seriously loving these books. Yes, they are standalones, but if you have read them all you will get suckered into their world that much more. Natalie, love her. A typical organiser, and a girl after my own heart. Her feelings for Wyatt are so real, but she respects him as a friend and boss, even if that could lead to her heart breaking. Wyatt, well I met him in Mr. O and he came across as a bit of a playboy and arse to be honest. This is more a case of him wanting to play that person though, at heart he is a big softie. Even if he is a little slow in recognising his true feelings.

Once again this is told from the male POV. Have to say, I love this. We get some glimpses into Natalie state of mind, but this is Wyatt’s show. You will laugh at his antics, want to slap a bit of reality into him and kick him up the arse more than once. He is a great character and I enjoyed taking this journey with him.

So once again Lauren Blakely has given me a romantic comedy that is fun, sexy and that has a man that makes mistakes in pursuit of an HEA he doesn’t even know he is missing. If you fancy a read that is light, funny and hot, which will also introduce you to some great characters along the way, Well Hung isn’t to be missed .

This book is a standalone and doesn’t relate to any other titles by Kaylee Ryan.

We meet Melissa as she goes in search of life. Having had a shitty childhood, she was lucky enough to be adopted. However, she is now alone again having lost her parents in tragic circumstances. Always one to follow the rules, when she stops for the night in a town she runs into a friendly group of guys and connects with one of them straight away. Totally out of character she spends the night with Ridge, but when Ridge wakes up in bed on his own, it is clear that Melissa has moved on.

Ridge has never quite forgot the sad girl he met all those months ago. He isn’t one for a relationship, one night is his and his close group of friends’ thing. But something about that girl has stuck with him. After a bet, he starts to have a friend’s with benefits relationship. But time together creates feelings from her that he isn’t into. One night he promises to go to an event, knowing that he will end things with her for good. But the storm he finds himself in has other ideas. When he pulls over to a serious accident, little does he know that not only has it changed his plans for the night, but it will change his life completely.

PEm circle 200

Okay, stopping there. This book is one of those books that is hard to sum up in a nutshell without giving too much away. I think from the cover you will easily guess that a baby is involved, however the how’s, where’s and when’s are a really enjoyable part of the book and one I don’t wish to spoil for you.

This book is jammed packed with great characters, none more so than Ridge, Kendall (a paediatric nurse) and the friends that are all connected either through blood or bond. I laughed, cried and swooned. It really does cover every emotion. But the best thing about this book is the twists, turns and the real unexpected that totally blindside you.

This is a perfect easy read with loveable characters and a storyline that engages and flows. Kaylee Ryan was a new author to me; she isn’t now. Since reading this, I have read a further 2 of her older titles and the talent she has for a flowing storyline seems to feature in them all.

So although, as already mentioned, Unexpected Reality is a standalone, I really hope that Kaylee expands on it and features books for all the characters. They really are a loveable bunch and 1 couple in particular have my interest very much piqued.

A really enjoyable read.

She’s good at achieving her goals…
College senior Sabrina James has her whole future planned out: graduate from college, kick butt in law school, and land a high-paying job at a cutthroat firm. Her path to escaping her shameful past certainly doesn’t include a gorgeous hockey player who believes in love at first sight. One night of sizzling heat and surprising tenderness is all she’s willing to give John Tucker, but sometimes, one night is all it takes for your entire life to change.
But the game just got a whole lot more complicated
Tucker believes being a team player is as important as being the star. On the ice, he’s fine staying out of the spotlight, but when it comes to becoming a daddy at the age of twenty-two, he refuses to be a bench warmer. It doesn’t hurt that the soon-to-be mother of his child is beautiful, whip-smart, and keeps him on his toes. The problem is, Sabrina’s heart is locked up tight, and the fiery brunette is too stubborn to accept his help. If he wants a life with the woman of his dreams, he’ll have to convince her that some goals can only be made with an assist.

Book 4 in the Off-Campus series. Each book can be read as a standalone, however you will have a better reading experience if you read them in order. This book in particular relates to book 3 and Tucker and Sabrina’s story really starts at the end of The Score.

John Tucker has spent the last few years living with his best friends and team mates, playing Hockey and enjoying college life. As graduation nears he is looking towards his future and where his life will go from here. One thing he knows for sure is that the NHL won’t feature. No, his future will be in business and moving back to Texas where he can focus on forging a successful career. That is until he lays eyes on Sabrina James. One night is all it takes for him to become addicted. Little does he know that it also only takes one night to change your whole life too.

Sabrina James is on a well-planned and carefully choreographed pathway that leads to an Ivy League law school and a highly paid, successful career at a top law firm. She won’t let her shitty background mess that up for her and she certainly won’t let a man. She works her butt off to pay for college and hook-ups are just that. One night, no attachments and only jocks; although absolutely no Hockey players thanks to her hatred of a certain Dean Di Laurentis. That is until a certain John Tucker knocks on the wall she has surrounded herself with.

So when things suddenly set down a course neither expect, will they be able to work together as a team or will Sabrina’s stubborn independent streak ruin something that could be as perfect as it is unexpected.

Screen Shot 2015-11-07 at 7.59.46 AM

Firstly, I am seriously loving this series. In fact I have yet to read a book by Elle Kennedy that I haven’t loved. Having read the previous 3 books back to back, I seriously hated the fact that I had to wait for what seemed like forever for this book. (Okay not forever, it was only a few months LOL!) I am not giving away any spoilers by saying that Sabrina ends up pregnant; hell it’s how The Score ends and it’s in the synopsis. It’s how we get there and how they go forward in this read, because like any lover of this series we were all left thinking how the hell did Tucker end up with his best friends arch nemesis.

I am not going to give away any spoilers here, but this is a huge journey for both of them emotionally. These are two 22 year olds with big plans for their futures and it all changes with 2 blue lines on a stick. Tucker, well he just takes it in his stride. He knows how he feels about Sabrina and his loyalty and commitment is unwavering. But for Sabrina, who has only ever had one goal in mind, is fiercely independent and who also has abandonment issues, the change in direction seriously throws her for a loop.

Whilst Tucker is someone that will make your heart swoon, Sabrina is a little harder to love at times. But no-one is perfect and we all have our insecurities. So the question is… Will her background, dreams and insecurities spoil their future? Or will it be Tucker’s friend and family that throw a spanner in the works? Only one way to find out.

So as our 4 housemates graduate, other players are introduced. Does this mean this series will continue? I really hope so. I love college romance, sports romance and Ice hockey players. This series has all 3, which means I am in book paradise. Keep them coming Elle, this is one series I am not ready to say goodbye to yet.

El Diablo is book 1 in a spin-off series of the brilliant Good Ol’ Boys. You do not need to have read that series, however I personally feel it is essential to at least read Crave Me, as Martinez is introduced and plays an integral part in that book.

They call him the Devil and indeed he believes himself to be exactly that. But are people born bad? Or is it our environment that determines the paths our lives will take? This is Alejandro Martinez’s story. From his innocent teenage years, we follow him as he meets the destiny his Mob father has set for him. He rules with an iron fist, is feared and hated as much as he is respected in the underworld he presides over. But it is one woman who will be his biggest challenge. So the question is how can he love an angel when he belongs in hell.

Lexi has had a dismal life thus far. She dreams of becoming a ballerina, but the journey has been a sad and unhappy one. When she meets the older, handsome and enigmatic Martinez, she embarks on a relationship that will span many years. She is well aware of the danger that surrounds him, but she only see’s the light. He becomes her saviour, but also her worst nightmare.

And that is where I leave my overview. I could write and write on. This is such a twisting and turning story which throws up surprises, but will also answers questions we had about Martinez from Crave Me. So all I will say is that there are always 2 sides to a story. We got Brigg’s version of her Uncle, now we get his side and man is it bloody good!

PEm circle 200

So I must admit that I was unsure whether I would enjoy this book. Not because I don’t LOVE M. Robinson’s work, because believe me after reading the original Good Ol’ Boys series she has become a favourite author of mine. No, my concern was the main protagonist. As I have already said, he plays a major part in Austin and Brigg’s story in Crave Me and I came out of that book laying a lot of blame for the problems they had to battle at his feet. I was unsure if he would be redeemable, if he deserved his HEA. But M. Robinson plays this story like a concert pianist plays his Steinway grand piano. You will love him and hate him over and over again. In Lexi he has found the chink in his proverbial armour. She challenges him, doesn’t fear him and sees him for the good and the really bad. But will his need to protect her end up breaking both their hearts? Well I will leave that for you to find out.

Happily I can tell you that we also get to see the Good Ol’ Boys and the way their lives have moved on. I am guessing we will be seeing a little more of them in November when Creed the next book in this spin-off series is released.

To M. Robinson, Your stories are masterpieces. I love how your minds works, but more than that I love the way it keeps one step ahead of the readers. You lady are a twisted genius and I can’t wait for the next instalment.

To my fellow book lovers. If you are yet to read any stories by M. Robinson, get 1-clicking or you really are missing out.

They've spent their lives pushing each other away, but what will happen when they need each other most?
Anita Martin doesn't expect much from life. Growing up on the street, bouncing from one foster home to another, she learned to rely only on herself. Even after she finally found a loving family to take her in, she was still an outsider-something Abraham, one of the family's older sons, never let her forget.
Abraham Evans doesn't know how Ani always manages to get under his skin, only that's she's been doing it since they were teens. She is-and always has been-undeniably gorgeous. But he's never met anyone as pissed off at the world as Ani.
For fifteen years, Ani and Bram have agreed on exactly one thing: they can't stand each other-until one night when their anger gives way to passion. Yet even as Ani and Bram begin to secretly seek comfort in one another's arms, they remain emotionally worlds apart. When Ani's life takes a dramatic turn and she realizes she needs more than Bram can give, their fragile, no-strings relationship unravels. One way or another, Ani is determined to survive. But when Bram finally admits his true feelings, he may discover Ani has moved on without him . . .

Book 2 in the Fostering Love series. Each book can be read as a standalone, but I recommend reading them in the order they were written as all the characters’ lives are so entwined.

Anita Martin has been part of the Evans family for 15 years. Her childhood was difficult and she spent both time on the streets as well as time in numerous foster homes. She finally struck gold when the Evans added her to a family full of children that needed love. She is close to her foster siblings Katie and Alex, but her relationship with Abraham has always been a little more complicated; okay a lot complicated. They fight like cat and dog and have no time for each other… until they do.

Bram Evans is so thankful that he and his twin Alex were adopted by the Evans family. As part of a loving extended family, he has always been protective of his younger sister and cousins. Even Ani, who was a late arrival to their family has his protection, even if she rubs him up the wrong way… all the time. So when suddenly their relationship changes, he is unsure how it will effect both the plans he doesn’t want for his future or whether it will change the dynamics of the family he holds close to his heart.

So will the no-strings relationship they start up go the distance? Or will pressures of the present and the effects of their childhoods get in the way?

Book 1 in the Devils Wolves series. This book is the start of a spin off series from the Ashes & Embers series and features characters from that series throughout. You do not need to have read that series to enjoy Torn, however I recommend you do as it will give you more of a background to the characters and the world in which they live in.

Kenzi Valentine is just about to graduate high school and isn’t sure what she wants to do with her life. The daughter of rock stars, her and her father have had to survive life without her mother for the last few years and it has been tough. But with the love of her close family, her dad and her dad’s best friend, she is as happy as she could be without the presence of the mother she adored. Tor, her father’s best-friend and her god-father has always been her closest friend, the person she could rely on and her go to person when things got tough. Only 15 years older than her, she has always felt a deep connection with him. Until one day the line between love and friendship becomes blurred and it may never be quite the same ever again.

PEm circle 400

Tor has always loved Kenzi with his whole heart. When his best-friends had her when they were 15, he promised to help them and he has never wavered in his commitment to them or her. She has always been the brightness in his life, the sugar in his tea and the light in his darkness. They share so much and connect on so many levels. But when feelings suddenly evolve and life moves in a direction you least expect, you can either go with your head or follow your hearts desires.

Oh god, how I loved this book. Having seen the synopsis for this book back in July, I just knew I had to read it. I quickly read the 4 books in the Ashes and Embers series in preparation and although I really enjoyed them, nothing could have prepared me for this book. It has everything I love in a good old fashioned, heart wrenching romance.

So I will warn you that Uncle (not by blood) turns into potential lover and with Kenzi just 18 and Toren 32, some may feel put off. I urge you not to be though. This is a real destined to be together type of story. It is beautiful because of the pureness of the love they have for each other and the battle that Toren in particular has with his feelings. There is no ickyness to it at all and I really have to praise Carian Cole for the way she has portrayed their story. It is full of angst and pure romance and it made me go all gooey inside.

If you want a book that has a bit of taboo, lots of angst and a love that could potentially last a lifetime, this book is an absolute MUST READ!!

Book 3 of 3 in the Nine Minutes Trilogy.
A Gift of Time is the third installment in the Nine Minutes Trilogy. It is not intended to be a stand-alone novel, but could be read as one. Still, I highly recommend that you read my first two novels, Nine Minutes and Out of Time, to be able to understand the background stories of the main characters. There are many twists and turns in both books that can best be connected if read consecutively.
Are some secrets meant to stay buried?
Three months have passed since Jason “Grizz” Talbot was put to death by lethal injection for crimes he committed. His former wife, Ginny, whom he had abducted from a convenience store when she was a teenager and became the love obsession of his life, has spent more than the last decade trying to carve out a life of normalcy in the bustling suburbs of Fort Lauderdale—including a thriving and happy marriage to Tommy "Grunt" Dillon, a former member of Grizz’s gang.
Tired of the secrets and the lies, Ginny and Tommy thought the final piece of their past could be left behind forever with Grizz’s execution. However, the past comes crashing around Ginny and Tommy when a newly discovered secret threatens to destroy their marriage.
When tragedy strikes, Ginny is forced to reach into her heart and decide, once and for all, what she really wants.
In this third book in the Nine Minutes trilogy, A Gift of Time takes readers from the busy tropical metropolis of South Florida into the serenity of the North Carolina Blue Ridge mountains as Ginny chases down the answers she needs.
Will she have the strength to confront the secrets of her past…and her heart?

Book 3 in the Nine Minutes trilogy. You MUST read the previous 2 books before starting A Gift of Time. This really is a continuing story, so if you haven’t read those book please don’t waste time reading this review when you could be 1-clicking this whole series.

Okay, so usually I would give you a brief overview of the story so far and what to expect in this book, but seriously how do I even begin to do that. There is a reason I am just a reviewer and not an author. I am just not that eloquent and couldn’t even begin to do this book or indeed the series justice. Yes folks it really is that mind-blowingly perfect.

So this book is very much set in the present. Of course we will revisit the past, there are still so many t’s that need crossing and i’s that need dotting. But this is a book about how Ginny, Tommy, Grizz and their children move into the future, even with the secrets and lies of the past that lie between them. It really is a journey and at times you need to stop and have a think as the twist and turns come thick and fast. There are characters that are re-introduced or indeed introduced that you need to ponder and think about, but that is what I love about this trilogy; it makes you think.

PEm circle 400

A lot is said about #TeamGrunt or #TeamGrizz but for me I have both loved and hated them equally. They have each loved Ginny more than life itself, but they have also told lies and made mistakes. As for Ginny she has loved them both and they each have her heart, but who she is destined to be with? Well you will have to read it yourself to find out.

So is it the end? Well for these 3 it is I’m afraid. But as they say, all good things must come to an end. This has been such a journey and one that I will never forget for lots of reasons. The writing, characters and the plot were sublime and I am not sure I will ever read anything quite like this again. It really is that EPIC! So as much as I am sad to say goodbye, I am also glad that they each came to peace with their pasts. As for the future, well I think we may well get more but we will need to look towards the next generation, and I for one can’t bloody wait!

Book 2 in the much applauded Royals series. If you haven’t read book 1, Paper Princess then do not read this review any further. Broken Prince is very much a continuation of a very complex story and you cannot pick the story up from here.

Blimey, it feels like I have had to wait ages for this book. In reality, as book series go, the authors actually followed book 1 up pretty quick. Paper Princess left on such a major cliff-hanger that it was all I could think about for weeks; mulling over different scenario’s, where the story would go from here and what other skeletons would come out of the closet; It gave me a serious book hangover that I struggled to get past. So when this book finally landed on my kindle, life stopped. I devoured it, eager to see if my hunches were correct. In some areas they were, but others were seriously off base.

Broken Prince starts off just prior to the conclusion of Paper Princess. Now in Reed’s POV we find out the facts and truths about what made Ella run, Reed’s reaction to her disappearance and the knock-on effect it has on every single Royal. So if some of my hunches were indeed correct, it still didn’t affect the shocks, twists and turns that the rest of the story had in store for me. Let me assure you that the Royal’s are back in all their dysfunctional glory, but this book is a lot more sympathetic to each and every one of them. Of course no good book is without a villain or indeed two (maybe even more). Things change for the Royal’s in more ways than one, and it becomes apparent that Ella has become the oil that keeps the family engine moving along healthily.

If I am being super picky, I found the middle section a little slow, but you know the saying “The calm before the storm”, well it gave me a breather in what was a complex and riveting journey. The last 20% seriously raised my blood pressure. So what does that mean for all you readers? Yes, you’ve guessed it. A truly epic ending and one humdinger of a cliff-hanger.

This is a brilliantly plotted series with layered characters and original storylines that lace together beautifully. A YA book for even the more mature reader, and a series that is not to be missed.

Turning thirty is overrated. Who said you had to be married with a fabulous career and three kids? I had a great life. Single, freedom to do whatever I please, and best of all, stay home on a Friday night in my sweats, eating pizza while listening to the best of the ’80s.
I’m fine.
When a woman says she’s fine, she’s not fine. Zoey had it all. Stunning looks, ambition, the whole package. Then he fucked her up. He broke her.
And now I’m left picking up the pieces…again.
Zoey Richards, strong-willed and driven, settled on the geeky struggling med student to share her apartment with, not the perfect-in-every-way stud who would just distract her and undoubtedly break her heart.
When her ex comes back into the picture, Zoey seeks revenge and enlists her roommate’s help. All Zoey and Drew need to do is pretend to be a couple for one night. But one night can change everything. Refusing to break their “roomie code,” and in an effort to deny their feelings for each other, a war erupts between Zoey and Drew.
She lives in the past; he, for the future. If opposites attract, will these two gamble their friendship for a chance at love?

Roomie Wars is a standalone romance and is not related to any other books written by this author.

Zoey is just about to turn 30, is in a job that seems to be going nowhere fast and is nursing a crushed heart following the break-up with the latest bad boy. Much to her roomie’s disgust, she has spent too many months sitting on the couch and gorging on crap t.v, 80’s music and junk food. To top it off, she also has the pleasure of watching her roommate and best friend parade an endless amount of hook-ups through their apartment. Who knew 4 years ago that the chubby nerd called Andrew would become a chick magnet, health freak now going by Drew.

Drew has watched Zoey go from an ambitious hot young woman into a broken hearted slob. Gone is the strong-willed woman he met 4 years ago and it is all down to a man that never deserved her anyway. Like always he is there for her, encouraging and being the best friend he can be. But when the chance of losing her becomes too real, will he be honest about his feelings? Or will he deny them to keep their friendship intact?

PEm circle 200

They have worked as roommates for so long because they have never broken the rules they set and stuck to from the start. But when Jess makes a re-appearance, Zoey asks Drew a huge favour. Lines will get blurred and their friendship may or may not suffer. Will they follow the roomie code or will they break them all?

Another great read from an author that is fast becoming a favourite of mine. Once again, as with her previous read #Jerk, Kat has wrote a book that is in essence a romantic comedy, but a rom-com that has a little bit more heart to it. I laughed, my heart broke and of course, as with all her books, expect there to be the angst factor.

I totally related to Zoey. Her life is at a crossroads and she can’t choose the best direction for the fog that blinds her. The only beacon is Drew, but the feeling that he has begun to stir are a struggle for her because he is the only person in her life who she trusts. As for Drew, well he is hot and yes he knows it. A total man-whore, but one with a heart and one that cares deeply for Zoey. When he is faced with losing her, his true feelings surprise him. In his heart he is still the boy with lingering abandonment issues and he is unwilling to risk their friendship because of any unrequited feelings he may have.

A great pull and push friends to lovers romance, with lots of laughs, nostalgic 80’s music references and two characters that would rather go to war than risk rejection and the loss of a friendship. A really enjoyable summer read. Another book by an author I highly recommend.

This is book 1 in the Unbreak My Heart series. Each book will feature a different couple as they chase love and their HEA’s.

Katie has always held a flame for her old family friend Shane. When she was a teenage she majorly crushed on him, until he crushed her heart by hooking up and eventually marrying her best friend Rachel. 10 years later and she still supports Rachel and helps her with her 3 children, especially with Shane often deployed for long periods overseas. Her relationship with Shane though is practically non-existent, especially as Rachel barely has time for her when he is home. She has made supressed feeling an art form. But sadly her love and loyalty to Rachel, Rachel’s children and Shane are to be tested to the extreme.

Shane adores his wife and children. He also is thankful to his foster parents who took him in when he most needed it, giving him the settled family life he so desperately needed. When his wife dies tragically, he is left with not just 3 children to care for, but also the miracle baby she was carrying. The only person he can turn to is Rachel’s best friend and the niece of his parents, Kate. His history with Katie is a difficult one. Once great friends, things changed when Katie developed feelings for him. Years later she has just become his wife’s best friend, but now she may well be his and his young family’s saviour.

When Shane and Kate share an unexpected night of passion, it leads to regret, guilt and bitterness. Shane is uncomfortable with his feelings and Kate is hurt with the viciousness of his words. But when 4 innocent children stand in between them, walking away isn’t an option. Will Shane’s ultimate betrayal be the end? Or will Kate fight for him, his children and herself?

I am a huge fan of this author. Being an MC romance junkie, I have read all her MC books and they are really up there with my favourites in the genre. So when I saw this book, completely unrelated to that world, I couldn’t wait to see if the talent that flows throughout her MC series would continue in a more NA genre. Well folks, flow it does. This book is fantastic and I struggled to put it down.

So a word of warning here, Shane is a bit of an arse. I have read many reviews that said they struggled to relate to him, and although I can understand it I also totally disagree. I think it is very obvious from the start that he finds Katie unnerving. And then suddenly he finds himself widowed and the only person he can turn to is the one person that evokes many feelings within in him and who he has a strained relationship with at best. He has lost the woman he loves and has to sit and watch someone care for their children. I was very sympathetic to his situation, but I certainly could have throat punched him at times believe me.

Katie, what an angel. There are not enough words to describe the love, kindness, support and loyalty she shows to her best friend’s family. The love she has long felt for Shane runs deep. But she was respectful of his marriage and adored Rachel and her beautiful children. Rachel’s death hits her hard, changing her life majorly. But it is her dealings with Shane that will break your heart. Is she a doormat? Absolutely not. She is patient, kind and all around amazing.

This is the best kind of slow burn romance. It is a fight for both characters, and until they can face the past and get past the guilt, insecurities and the pressures of their situation they will never find their happiness. Will it be together? I will let you read it yourself to find out.

A highly recommended start to what looks to be another great series for this author.

Clay Maxwell is a smart, quick witted, sex-driven, manwhore with the good looks to match. Plenty of women have shared his bed, but only one has ever been constant, Andrea.
Their rules were simple. When they’re together, it’s just the two of them. When they’re apart, anything is fair game. And it worked. For ten years.
But one of them has changed the game…
Clay must decide if his player ways are worth losing the one girl who has always been there.

Series: The Record Series #4

4.5 Crowns

Book 4 in The Record series. The series moves on from Brady and Liz now that they have found their HEA, exploring another characters love life. You do not need to have read the previous 3 books in the series to enjoy Struck From The Record, but it will make this read much more enjoyable if you have.

Clay Maxwell has always lived in the shadow of his White House bound older brother. Coming from a political dynasty has its positives, but it also has its negatives as well. Being the second son and middle child he always felt he wasn’t good enough, especially for his father who has much bigger plans for Brady than he does for Clay. However, he is determined to prove himself and become everything his father expects. The only person who he has never had to impress is Andrea, his girlfriend of 10 years and best friend since he met her on a beach when they were just 13. Their relationship is the one thing he doesn’t need to think about. Complicated to anyone looking in, their open relationship may seem unconventional to most, but for them it works… until it doesn’t.

With his career on the up and on track to meet the expectations set by his father, Clay now finds himself fighting for something he didn’t know he wanted until it was gone. Will he be able to live up to the standards expected of a Maxwell? But most importantly will he be able to meet the expectations of the only person in the world that matters?

PEm circle 400

I have so been waiting for this book. I really loved Clay in the first 3 books. The complete opposite to Brady, Clay was fun, flirty and obviously had hang ups when it came to his older brother. It was also clear that his love life was varied, even though he had a long-term girlfriend. I couldn’t wait to dig deeper and find out more, and I am pleased to say Ms Linde didn’t let me down.

So if you are expecting a book like the previous 3, think again. This book doesn’t take place in the politics of Capitol Hill, it is a story that takes place in the hearts of Clay and Andrea. This is very much a book about how people change, how they eventually want more and how relationships evolve or simply end. Clay has been so happy playing the game and following their rules, he hasn’t stopped to think about whether Andrea continues to enjoy their games herself. It is an absolute angst fest and has many a twist and turn along the way. I loved that it was told from Clay’s point of view, and the author really does a great job of making him so endearing, even when he is being an arse.

A brilliant addition to a great series. I now look forward to the youngest Maxwell sibling’s story. Really well set up in this read, if Brady and Clay’s books are anything to go by I will need to buckle up and look forward to another rollercoaster ride.

Book 3 in the brilliant Something series. This book can be read as a standalone as each book follows a new couple, however I recommend you read them all in order. This is a great series with great characters and this book will contain spoilers if you decide afterwards that you want to read them all; and believe me you will.

Kenzie Lane has been in love with the boy next door since she was 6 years old. He may be 10 years her senior, he is most definitely a player and unfortunately for her she has always been the little sister of his friend, so forever placed firmly in the friend zone. But Kenzie remains hopeful that one day he will notice her for the woman she has become; even moving to California to place herself directly in his radar. Alas the radar continues to be on the blink, until a little bet leads to something more.

PEm circle 200

Colby Singer has always been proud of his playboy reputation. He is also proud of his career and although close to his older brother has always felt the need for his approval. Kenzie Lane is like the little sister he never had. Okay, so she may have a slight crush on him, but he has maintained a platonic friendship with her and has been careful to never cross any lines to encourage it. So when she needs cheering up following a blow-up with her mother, Colby rushes in and takes her to the  one place that can cheer her up… Vegas. Little does he know how the best laid plans can suddenly go very wrong.

1 bet, 2 people and a simple kiss. Will Kenzie finally open Colby’s eyes? Or will Colby fall of the pedestal she has long placed him on?

I absolutely love this series and am not too proud to say I may have badgered Aubrey to get myself an ARC of Bet Me Something. Having read the previous 2 books back to back, I suddenly found myself anxiously waiting for Kenzie and Colby’s book. So I began channelling positive thoughts of speedy writing to the author. Then bam, suddenly it’s here. Eek, will it meet my expectations?

I love all of characters that Aubrey has pulled together in these books, but I have to say both Colby and Kenzie were characters that I really had a soft spot for. I loved these 2 in the previous books – the unrequited love versus the playboy. So understandably I then began to worry that when I finally got the story that it would lack in some way and not be how I so needed it to be.

Bravo Ms Bondurant, you pulled it out of the bloody bag with this story. It is abso-bloody-lutly perfect.

I don’t want to give any spoilers, but don’t expect it to be plain sailing for these two. If you think that Kenzie will be a pushover, think again. She is tough as boots and although madly in lust with Colby, she suddenly has her eyes opened to the fact that he isn’t as perfect and dreamy as she (or he himself) thinks. As for Colby, well he certainly has his work cut out with the vivacious Kenzi. Suddenly the girl he has always friend zoned becomes the ultimate challenge, and his hard earned reputation of player extraordinaire isn’t something he is proud of anymore.

A book full of love, friendship, sex and belly laughs. This is my favourite of the 3 books and that is saying something given how much I loved the previous 2. Aubrey describes her books as “smutty chick-lit” and I think that is bang on. The characters are engaging and the storylines fun. If you are looking for your perfect holiday read then look no further.

Meanwhile as I close my laptop, I do so channelling Aubrey those speedy writing positive thoughts again. I need Catherine’s book and I need it now.

The bad boy.
The fuck up.
The thief.

That was me.
Once a king,
Now a wanderer.

I’d thrown the best parts of me away, over and over again.
I was reckless.
Still am.
I’d been exiled.
I did my time.
I’ve cleaned up.
Well, sort of.
I got plans.
Yeah, good ones.

Then I ran into her.

A bolt of lightning
Out of reach.

The woman I once scorned years ago
is now the woman I can’t live without.
I need what I didn’t think I’d ever need again.
I want and want and want.

She’s the epicenter of the war I’ve triggered,
of the battle in my rusted heart.
I may be as reckless as I ever was,
but I’m determined as fuck.

To hell with it.

I want it all.

Book 4 in the Lock & Key series. This has a series storyline that in my opinion needs to be read in the order in which the author wrote it. Will you get lost if you pick this book up first? No not really. But what you will miss is a brilliant back story full of club history, relationships and what led to the here and now. So do yourself a favour and read them all, it will make this read even better.

Butler had it all and he blew it all away. Through his own fuck-ups, he ruined his reputation within his club, lost his wife, lost his presidency and the woman he always held a flame for. His club quite rightly showed him the door and he has spent the last year trying to find himself and the key back into the only life he has known since he was taken in by Dig all those years ago. Clean for the first time in way too long, he is finally in a position to make his return. And then he runs into a face from his past. They have a history that only they know about, but they are both different to the people they were 20 years ago. Maybe she can be the unexpected future Butler doesn’t even know he needs.

PEm circle 200

Tania has had it with her loveless, sexless marriage. It is time to live the life she wants, instead of living just to make her husband happy. With her mother suffering from MS, and her best friend back in South Dakota, she knows it time to head home and follow her dreams of opening a gallery in her hometown. When she bumps into Butler on her journey, she is shocked at how quickly they fall into a friendship. There last encounter was 20 years ago and it didn’t end particularly well. Now they are more mature, have overcome heartbreak and are both seeking a fresh start. But will it be together? Or will the club or indeed the self- destructive Butler get in the way?

Butler… How I have waited for your story, but it was going to have to be a great story. This character has been around since book 1 and as a reader, out of all the characters, he has been the one that has provided me with the whole gamut of human emotions. He is reckless, complicated and he wears his heart of his sleeve. Cat Porter had a task in front of her that’s for sure, so I can’t tell you how pleased I am to say that she knocked it out of the bloody ball park. This story is everything I wished for and more. It adds to his past that we are already know about, but more than anything it shows his redemption, his hopes, but most importantly the fears that continue to plague him.

If you have read the previous books, then you need to know that this book really starts prior to him returning in Iron and Bone (#3). Some of the book runs alongside that, as you get reacquainted with Butler and the impact of his return on the club. There is a real slow burn between him and Tania, and it is full of angst, club politics and a relationship that could be the perfection they have both spent their lives seeking.

I thought I knew Butler, but I only knew the surface. That being said, even at his worst I had a soft spot for him. So to find out more about what he has been through and how the past has affected his whole life, well let me tell you, it means that he fights Dig for the top spot in my affections.

So, this may well be the end of this series, but I have it from a very reliable source that it is just the beginning for some side characters. Cat Porter has dangled the carrot and I can’t bloody wait to eat it.

If you love MC romance, this series really is a MUST READ! Cat Porter’s writing is amazing, the characterisation is first class and the cast are everything you want in this genre. The entire series storyline is captivating, fast paced and encompassing. Cat has once again put out a story which is well thought out and brilliantly executed.

I once again now find myself anxiously waiting to see what comes next. An automatic 1-click author for me and a series and author I highly recommend.
