Can be read as a stand-alone

When Quinn Montgomery leaves the horrors of her past behind her, she never expects to run straight into the arms of a blue-eyed cowboy. Sneaking into the stables and getting caught in a life-threatening fire was never part of the plan. And neither was falling in love with the man who saved her life, Brody Parker.

The two share an undeniable connection, and slowly Quinn begins to open up about her past. Putting her trust in the wrong person has burned her before, so when Brody asks her to stay at the ranch, she can't help but wonder if she’s about to make another bad decision by staying. A decision that could hurt everyone she’s come to care for.

Will Quinn choose to run from the past that threatens to catch up with her? Or will she stay and fight, sacrificing whatever it takes for the man who sets her heart on fire?

Book 3 in the Healing Hearts series. This book can be read as a standalone, but I recommend reading them in the order they were written, because if you are like me, you will itching to read Brody’s story.

Having escaped the recent tragedy of her life, Quinn Montgomery arrives in Marble Falls ready for a new life and fresh start. When a local tips her off about a job, she decides to head that way not knowing the changes that lay ahead.

When Brody Parker saves a stranger from his families burning barn, he feels an intense connection with her. Brody isn’t known for forming any kind of connection, except in the bedroom, so the feelings that Quinn stirs in him are unexpected and new.

Two strangers drawn to each other, even though neither are looking for love. But sometimes love hits at the most unexpected time. The question is… do you fight for it? Or do you continuing running?

I have really looked forward to Brody’s book from the start of this series. There is always that one character the peaks your interest, and Brody was that character for me. Cocky, free-spirited, but a kind soul… I couldn’t wait to meet the girl that would capture his wandering heart, and Quinn didn’t disappoint. She had to be an out of towner, and she had to have that something in her that provoked a side to Brody that he didn’t know existed; and she certainly has all of that going on. But apart from all the drama that surrounds her, she is just so sweet. As much as she bowls Brody over, he does that right back to her. Don’t get me wrong… this isn’t an insta-love, but it is definitely insta-lust and attraction. They knock each other off their axes, and adding in the drama you have a very enjoyable read.

Well done Laura! These great books keep coming. I wonder where you will take us next, as this series looks to be at its natural conclusion. I will be looking forward to it though. Your writing continues to develop and each story has a new pace with some added spice. You manage to do this with a flow that keeps the storyline engaging and characters likeable. A great little series!

Savannah Parker is miserable.

The reason: Josh Miller, her brother’s best friend.

Devastated by the unrequited love she has for Josh, she has no choice but to sit back and watch him play the field, her heart breaking a little more each time she sees him.

In an attempt to forget about Josh and move on, she distances herself from those who love her. Josh is never far from her thoughts though. In a desperate attempt to feel something for someone and fill the void, she makes a reckless choice—one that will change her life forever.

Once her secret is revealed, relationships are threatened, and Savannah stands to lose those closest to her. When she needs someone the most, Josh proves to be her greatest support, and soon the lines of friendship become blurred. When she confronts him about his feelings for her, he reveals a secret of his own—one that could destroy them before they’ve even started.

Libby Davies is struggling. Following the death of her best friend in circumstances that leave her wracked with guilt, she doesn’t know how to get her life back on track. When her desperate parents suggest she visits her family in Texas, she takes the chance in the hope of moving on and getting her life back.

Glad to be away from the U.K and surrounded by the beautiful new scenery, she already starts to feel lighter in the Texan sunshine. Her cousin Savannah makes sure she has no time to wallow and soon has her busy horse-riding, shopping and meeting friends in the local town bar. It is here that she meets the gorgeous if not slightly mysterious Mason Walker. The attraction is instant and the chemistry fierce, but with an already damaged heart is hooking up with Mason really the best way forward?

So this is a debut novel from a new British author and I have to say that if this is her starting point I for one can’t wait to see how she develops in the future. This book is a real sweet romance. The characters are likeable, especially Mason, and the storyline flowed and held my interest.

It has a bit of everything. Heartbreak, romance, tragedy and of course some very steamy sex scenes. But what I particularly liked was the change in Libby and how the author developed her character as the story progressed. From a young woman struggling to make her way through each day, to a woman discovering love, her inner strength and passion. Mason has a real healing effect on her, but of course expect some difficulties thrown in to make the storyline all the more interesting. As for secondary characters, well there were a few, and I loved them all (well most!); especially Savannah They really added to this story and I hope that Laura looks to develop their individual lives and loves in the future.

I am always in awe of people that turn their passion for reading books into actually sitting down and writing one themselves. It takes a lot of guts to put yourself out there and I imagine it is scary to pour your soul into a piece of work that others will judge. Well my judgement is… Laura Farr, you have done a damn fine job (I dare anyone not to fall in love with Mason… swoon!). Not everyone will like it, but hey that’s life. Feel confident in your work and don’t let that anyone tell you that you haven’t wrote a really enjoyable romantic, sweet and sexy novel. I really enjoyed it and I now find myself trawling Amazon to find me some more cowboy stories. I just hope we get Savannah’s story in the not too distant future to quench my thirst.

Bravo Laura Farr!
