When Bree Prescott arrives in the sleepy, lakeside town of Pelion, Maine, she hopes against hope that this is the place where she will finally find the peace she so desperately seeks. On her first day there, her life collides with Archer Hale, an isolated man who holds a secret agony of his own. A man no one else sees.

Archer's Voice is the story of a woman chained to the memory of one horrifying night and the man whose love is the key to her freedom. It is the story of a silent man who lives with an excruciating wound and the woman who helps him find his voice. It is the story of suffering, fate, and the transformative power of love.

From the New York Times bestselling author of Archer's Voice, Mia Sheridan delivers a heartwrenching new stand-alone contemporary romance.

A broken woman . . .

Crystal learned long ago that love brings only pain. Feeling nothing at all is far better than being hurt again. She guards her wounded heart behind a hard exterior and carries within her a deep mistrust of men, who, in her experience, have only ever used and taken.

A man in need of help . . .

Then Gabriel Dalton walks into her life. Despite the terrible darkness of his past, there's an undeniable goodness in him. And even though she knows the cost, Crystal finds herself drawn to Gabriel. His quiet strength is wearing down her defenses and his gentle patience is causing her to question everything she thought she knew.

Only love can mend a shattered heart . . .

Crystal and Gabriel never imagined that the world, which had stolen everything from them, would bring them a deep love like this. Except fate will only take them so far, and now the choice is theirs: Harden their hearts once again or find the courage to shed their painful pasts.

SYNOPSIS

Holden Scott is the prince of professional football. At least he was before he lost it all . . . or more to the point, before he threw it all away. Now he’s out of a job, out of the public’s good graces, and perhaps just a little out of his mind. So when a friend offers up his remote lodge in the wilds of Colorado, giving Holden some time away to get his life back on track, he can hardly say no. The last thing he expects is to see a beautiful girl in the woods—one wearing a white, lace dress who appears in the moonlight, and leaves no footprints behind. Is she a dream? A ghost? A product of his muddled imagination? Or something entirely different?

Midnight Lily is the haunting love story of two lost souls reaching for each other in the dark. A tale of healing, acceptance, and the worlds we create to protect our own hearts. It is a story of being lost, of being found, and of being in the place between.

Mia Sheridan has delivered another incredibly deep, profound and thought – provoking story in Midnight Lily. Beautifully executed with a touch of fantasy and romantic suspense. Prepare to be shocked, and awed at this new angle in her armoury proving yet again that Mia Sheridan is a force to be reckoned with and a Queen of modern contemporary romance.

Midnight Lily is a very character-driven story of love, loss and acceptance. A kaleidoscope of colour and vivid imagery, Holden and Lily’s story is a unique concept that delivers a wicked twist that will keep you riveted from beginning to end.

Holden Scott is a man on the edge. A football star whom has taken drastic measures to numb the pain of grief by using pain medication. Succumbing to addiction, he’s lost his way but help is at hand when a good friend lends him his secluded getaway in order to escape the limelight and find himself again.

Princess Kelly

He never expected to see another person when the nearest dwelling is a few miles away but there is no denying the lady in white that watches him through the trees.

Lily knows the woods like the back of her hand as she befriends the stranger at the lodge. Her art in making this sad man smile a pleasurable distraction as every evening brings something new to their budding friendship; there is only one rule… personal questions are to remain at a bare minimum and yet sometimes you can see someone, truly see them without knowing too much at all.

This is one of those books where you have to go in blind. The synopsis gives the perfect summary without giving too much away and that is for the pure reason that not everything is as it seems. Midnight Lily totally blew my mind because it kept me questioning where this story would lead making it unpredictable and utterly riveting.

Have your wits about you with this one, it will throw you for a loop, and that is the pure magic of it.

Absolutely brilliant!

4 Crowns

Midnight Lily is the next romance novel in the very unique Sign of Love series. Each book is based around a sign of the zodiac, this one being Virgo. Each book is completely standalone, with no interlinking characters. I would however highly recommend this series.

Holden Scott is in serious need of change. A huge star in the world of football, his status within his team and in the eyes of the public has been shattered due to his off the field antics. Finding himself alone to beat his demons, and in the remote forests of Colorado, he knows this is his last chance at sorting his life out. But when a beautiful woman appears on the edge of the woods dressed in white lace, he has no idea the impact she will have on him and the direction his life will take next. She makes him want to be a better man and in turn he gives her a freedom that she longs for. Will they find a life outside the forest? Or will life take an unexpected turn.

Princess Emma

I need to keep this review brief out of respect for this awesomely talented author. It would be so easy to accidently give a prospective reader too much information and in the case of this book, that would be unforgivable. Read the synopsis, it is intentionally vague. That my friends is for a very good reason. This book is full of intrigue, mystery and suspense. But of course this is Mia Sheridan, she likes her twists and turns and believe me when I say, this is without doubt a book that will leave you saying “Well I didn’t expect that”.

So did I like it? Yes and no. Of course, as expected, this book is beautifully written, is well thought out and extremely visceral in the emotions it creates. Her books are always so atmospheric; she certainly is one of the best authors at creating a world so easily in your mind. For me though, and this is purely personal, it just wasn’t my bag. My blog sister used a word that was so true and I wish I could share it with you, but alas it would give too much away. Do not however, let this put you off. This is a very good book, just not MY type of book. And that is why I gave Midnight Lily 4 Crowns. I cannot give it less purely because of my personal opinion. It has to be about the book and I know that many, many readers will adore it.

A unique, atmospheric and well written romance by a very talented writer. If you love Mia Sheridan’s work, you shouldn’t let it pass you by. Just stay away from the hideous spoiler reviews; you need to go in blind.

Words do not exist to express all the feels I have for this book. I literally just finished that last beautiful word and I am bursting with unchained emotion that can’t possibly express a single coherent thought that would be valuable to be a review worthy of this book.

The only words I can muster is if there is any book you read this year or ever. Read Midnight Lily!
