Gideon Cross. Falling in love with him was the easiest thing I've ever done. It happened instantly. Completely. Irrevocably.
Marrying him was a dream come true. Staying married to him is the fight of my life. Love transforms. Ours is both a refuge from the storm and the most violent of tempests. Two damaged souls entwined as one.
We have bared our deepest, ugliest secrets to one another. Gideon is the mirror that reflects all my flaws ... and all the beauty I couldn't see. He has given me everything. Now, I must prove I can be the rock, the shelter for him that he is for me. Together, we could stand against those who work so viciously to come between us.
But our greatest battle may lie within the very vows that give us strength. Committing to love was only the beginning. Fighting for it will either set us free ... or break us apart.
Heartbreakingly and seductively poignant,
One with You
is the breathlessly awaited finale to the Crossfire® saga, the searing love story that has captivated millions of readers worldwide.

Gideon Cross is my fave broken character.  I know I know.. choosing Grey or Cross is like choosing Batman or Superman.  For me… Cross wins hands down!

In this final chapter of the Crossfire series, you get the culmination of a very complicated love story.  Gideon and Eva, to broken souls that together find strength and make each other better, heal each other and find the deepest form of love that exists.  Epic Love Story!

With that said, this book divided me.  The story of Gideon and Eva.. I absolutely loved!! Omg 5+++++ crowns.  It is the perfect ending to that love story.  We have witnessed Gideon grow up before our eyes and this story is very satisfying to me on how they are left at the end.

PE circle 200

0%-75% in and I was a happy, cozy reader….  There was an amazing story line for them, and some other great story lines that had been developing that had me completely hooked to the book!  I was just amazed at where these stories were going!

Bam! The last 25%… just a complete rushed and felt like the author was on a schedule and did not follow through on the amazing twists these story lines were taking.  Like they needed to be wrapped up asap without fully giving the reader what could have been her best book of the series.  In all honesty, I feel that had this book been split into 2 instead of one, Book #6 would have been the best in the series.  Instead of fully going into more depth in the supporting storylines, they ended abruptly and then tied in a neat little bow.  This left me feeling a little sad.

Gideon and Eva’s story –  5++++++++++ Crowns

The rest of the book – 3 Crowns

4 Crowns

The fifth and final book in the bestselling Crossfire series. So, if you have been living under a literary rock, then I need to tell you that this book concludes a continual storyline. Therefore you must read the first 4 books before embarking on it. But I am guessing that if you are reading this review, like me you will be thinking that it has been a long time coming, and you can’t wait to bloody dive in.

So as with each book in this series, One With You starts off where Captivated By You (#4) finished. I am not going to go too much into storyline as I don’t want to spoil it. But in this book Gideon and Eva finally seem to find a groove that works for them. Obviously there are still bumps along the road, but there was much more meat on the bone in this book. Having been disappointed with both books 3 & 4, I was worried that the flame of interest that I had for both these characters would have been extinguished. I am so happy to say that it wasn’t. The magic and chemistry was back and I was so happy to feel it pour off the pages.

Is it the perfect ending? I would have to probably say no. I do have to agree with many other reviews that question why other secondary storylines weren’t tied up. In most books that wouldn’t bother me, however the secondary characters and their storylines have played such an integral part of the overall series. It seems off that as a writer you leave unanswered questions given you have 5 full length novels to answer them in. But let’s not digress too much. This book does also have many positives. The sex is once again steamy and you get chapters from Gideon’s POV; how can that not be a huge positive. What the previous 2 books lacked in storyline, this one made up for. It is just such a shame that what was as a whole a great story was dragged over 5 books instead of 3.

Having loved books 1 & 2, books 3 & 4 were disappointing for me. For want of a better word, I found them boring. I so wish that this book has been combined with those and that a major storyline contained in this book had been explored more throughout. I am not going to go into it too much as it would be a huge spoiler, and whilst it came out of left field, I really enjoyed it. Had that been explored more, and the storyline of this and the previous 2 books been combined, the overall storylines in the latter part of the series would have had had more to them. Instead what was a great inclusion into the storyline was rushed in the final 25% of this book and that was a real shame.

So whilst I have my issues with the series, the biggest 1 being the time between each instalment… seriously years between some of the books. Really??? I look back at it and can say on the whole it has been enjoyable. It brought us the enigmatic Gideon Cross and the feisty Eva Tramell and I for one am glad to have read it. If you have been a fan of this series, this is a must read. Some questions will linger, but on the whole you will be happy with the place in which Gideon and Eva find themselves at the end.
