Ravage is a compelling, twisted and addictive dark read and another great instalment in the Scarred Souls series.

‘I had survived the massacre that took my family, but lying here, I realised that the years spent away in hiding I was simply existing. And it took a monster to revive my heart. It took a killer to touch my soul.’ – Zoya

It all started with RAZE; my beautiful broken Bratva, it continued with REAP as we saw two notorious Russian crime families unite in the name of forbidden love, and now Tillie has given us our most tortured character of all in RAVAGE.

At only 12-years-old, Valentin swore to protect his 4-year-old sister from the monsters in the night. Having been subjected to neglect due to a junkie Mother, Valentin and Inessa were two forgotten children living out their days in an orphanage; a place that should have protected them.

They came in the night, the woman in black and the night wraiths that took innocent children away never to be seen again. Valentin head the whispers and for many months managed to thwart the gang by hiding in a secret place with his little sister, until one night his plans where scarpered.

Subjected to severe abuse and slavery and drugged with a manmade cocktail of narcotics that made him obey the most repulsive commands, Valentin became just another number in the underworld of death, that number was #194.

Brutal, scarred and a walking nightmare, #194 also had a secret; he never forgot who he was and what his Mistress has put them through, and one day promises revenge on them all. One last mission, one last hit and the promise of freedom may be in vain but it’s all he can hope for, for his sister’s sake – anything to get her out of the clutches of the Master.

Zoya Kostava is a Georgian princess. Having watched her family die in a massacred attack and barely getting out alive herself, she has been living in fear and secrecy her entire life. When she hears that her only blood relative and favourite Brother has been found alive and in the company of the enemy, Zoya puts her own safety aside as she seeks out to meet him. Her plans go awry when a fearsome scarred monster captures her spying on his new target.

#194 puts the strange girl through her paces, knowing that one day soon she will break and tell him who she really is, but he never expected her story to resonate so deeply with him.

Two scarred and lost souls find each-other in the most terrifying and darkest of circumstances, as they fight for the freedom they never had and a love believed forever lost to them both.

RAVAGE was another compelling, dark, brutal and twisted read that still managed to capture an innocent and deeply passionate light. Wherever Tillie Cole goes, I am sure to eagerly follow as again, I cannot recommend this series, or her work highly enough.

The Bratva and Georgian fight is on but things are starting to take an exciting and detrimental turn, all in the name of love, brotherhood and ultimately…. Revenge.

I can’t wait for Inessa’s story, coming next!

One man stripped of his freedom, his morals… his life.
Conditioned in captivity to maim, to kill and to slaughter, prisoner 818 becomes an unremorseful, unrivaled and unstoppable fighter in the ring. Violence is all he knows. Death and brutality are the masters of his fate.
After years of incarceration in an underground hell, only one thought occupies his mind: revenge… bloody, slow and violent revenge.
Revenge on the man who lied.
Revenge on the man who wronged him.
Revenge on the man who condemned him and turned him into… this: a rage-fueled killing machine. A monster void of humanity; a monster filled with hate.
And no one will stand in the way of getting what he wants.
One woman stripped of her freedom, her morals… her life.
Kisa Volkova is the only daughter of Kirill ‘The Silencer’ Volkov, head of the infamous ‘Red’ bosses of New York's Russian Bratva. Her life is protected. In reality, it’s a virtual prison. Her father’s savage treatment of his rivals and his lucrative and coveted underground gambling ring—The Dungeon—ensures too many enemies lurk at their door.
She dreams to be set free.
Kisa has known only cruelty and loss in her short life. As manager of her father’s death match enterprise, only grief and pain fill her days. Her mafiya boss father, in her world, rules absolute. And her fiancé, Alik Durov, is no better: The Dungeon’s five-time champion, a stone-cold killer, the treasured son of her father’s best friend, and her very own—and much resented—personal guard. Unrivaled in both strength and social standing, Alik controls every facet of Kisa’s life, dominates her every move; keeps her subdued and dead inside… then one night changes everything.
While working for her church—the only reprieve in her constant surveillance—Kisa stumbles across a tattooed, scarred, but stunningly beautiful homeless man on the streets. Something about him stirs feelings deep within her; familiar yet impossibly forbidden desires. He doesn’t talk. Doesn’t communicate with anyone. He’s a man beyond saving, and a man she must quickly forget… for both their sakes.
But when days later, out of the blue and to her complete surprise, he’s announced as the replacement fighter in The Dungeon, Kisa knows she’s in a whole lot of trouble. He’s built, ripped and lethally unforgiving to his opponents, leaving fear in his wake and the look of death in his eyes.
Kisa becomes obsessed with him. Yearns for him. Craves his touch. Needs to possess this mysterious man...
… this man they call Raze.

OMG! I just pulled an all-nighter. I need sleep, but after this heart-wrenching, brutal showdown I doubt I will get much to be honest. Raze is one of the most tortured souls I’ve ever read. This book truly affected me, it was raw, brutal, but sinfully addictive! I couldn’t put it down!

“In that cage, we are both Gods and monsters.”

Raze didn’t just consume me; heart, mind, body and soul, it set me on fucking fire! It pushed every emotional trigger and at times it hurt, my God it stung and brought tears to my eyes, as you are thrown into an inpenetratable darkness that leaves you feeling bereft, bitter and broken. Unlocking the past piece by piece becomes critical in order to enact revenge on the one who took it all, until you are left with agonising hard truths and a rage so deadly, lord have mercy on whoever stands in the way.

Revenge is the most deadly emotion, the most unforgiving and Prisoner 818 is on a mission of seek and destroy…

Dark, powerful, brutal, raw, heart-wrenching and insanely addictive, Raze will stay with you long after the final page. I won’t deny there are some scenes that are very hard to read. To come from a renowned and much feared Russian mafia family and to have seen death at such a young age is one thing, but when someone whom you regard as family betrays you, the consequences have devastating affects for everyone, including those you leave behind.

Kisa is an incredible heroine. She may be a Daughter of the Russian Bratva, but she knows what prison feels like. She still misses him, her Luka, the boy who stole her heart at 13 but who disappeared after the murder of her twin Brother. Her plight is arduous, her life one of quiet despair as she succumbs to the heir of the Bratva throne. Her task of playing the doting and submissive fiance taking a toll on her kind heart. Her faith in the church and in humanity is what keeps her alive, sane, and open to finding solace in helping the broken and lost. Penace for her family’s unforgiveable sins – Guilt at what they have all become.

Alik is a Bratva heir, Kisa’s fiance and jail keeper. The most feared in an underworld cage fighting ring at The Dungeon. He is a stone cold killer with no remorse. The undefeated champion where only one is left standing…

Blood-thirsty and raw, Raze is a story of survival and revenge, but deep in the bones tells another tale; one of love, hope and destiny. Told in alternative POV, Kisa and Raze’s story is hard hitting and painful, but it is also beautiful and forgiving as two soulmates learn to become one, rekindling a light that started to burn many years ago, in a world washed with blood, betrayal and death.

I love my angst, and this dark romance did not disappoint.

Raze, my beautiful, tortured broken boy. My book loving beating heart will love you…forever!

Just when you think Raze was the epiphany of dark romance awesomeness, this sequel comes along and knocks you flat out with awe. Tillie Cole does it again!

There are times when you just want to leave the contemporary romance behind for a while and dive head first into a dark, gritty, twisted and shocking read, and Tillie Cole never fails to deliver. Her imagery may be violent and somewhat shocking but her deliverance is faultless to the point that no matter how hard some scenes may affect you emotionally, mentally it is impossible to just shut down and shy away from. Every aspect of this series is raw to the point of pain but there is no denying its alluring pull as you witness the most scarred souls rise from the ashes and take control of their own destiny that up until this point has been stolen via gruesome violence and brainwashing tactics.

I feared Raze but I fell in love with his character in the first book, just as I did with the dynamics of finding that love that was so cruelly lost so many years ago. His need for revenge was what drove his story forward and reconnecting with his lost love gave his story a touch of innocence and warmth in a caged world so cold. To reconnect with his character and see how far he has come was a wonder to behold, but to know that his moral code of seek, protect, repay a blood debt in his friend’s honour by saving his incarcerated Brother made this sequel well and truly epic. How does she do it? Tillie goes from strength to strength, her books are on par every single time and I am in awe of the way she can take such broken characters and nurture them, give them a voice, a purpose, and a worthy love that has the power to conquer all.

This story surpassed any expectations I may have unconsciously had because in all honesty it completely floored me. Think Romeo and Juliet, the love of two families at war – mortal enemies that were never destined to meet, and that will give you some idea of what is in store for Talia Tolstaia and Zaal Kostava. I’m not saying this is a tragic love story because the actions that lead Talia and Zaal together are one of respect and brotherhood, but my goodness, this is no easy ride.

Raze… Oh how I adore thee, as he brings the enemy into the home of his Father and shows the Russian Bratva what it means to respect and to honour. Going against everything he was taught, he proves that a name is but a name, but a promise is worth more than a thousand men when it comes to fulfilling it and paying homage to a man who truly set him free.

The synopsis covers just enough of this story without giving too much away so I’m going to respect that and leave my review here, but if you are looking for a dark romance read that will stay with you long after the final page, then you cannot go wrong with this series.

‘You are for me’. My favourite reads of 2015!
