Book 3 in the Starcrossed series. This is a standalone novel and follows Elissa Holt, the younger sister of Ethan Holt. We were introduced to her in both Bad Romeo and Broken Juliet, and although all 3 books have interlinking characters, you do not need to read the previous ones to fully enjoy Wicked Heart.

Elissa Holt lives by one rule when it comes to matters of the heart – Do not get involved with the leading man! An upcoming stage manager on the Broadway scene, she has had her fingers burnt one too many times with your typical narcissistic actor. So when she meets Liam Sinclair one evening, she thinks he may just be perfect; especially when he tells her he is in construction… that is until he turns up for an audition the next day. When he wins the part, she is determined to stick to her rules; even if that means fighting a mutual attraction and the magnetic connection between them. They share one night of perfection before he follows his dreams to Hollywood on his own. That was 6 years ago. Now he is back, a huge star and she is once again his stage manager, along with his equally famous, beautiful co-star and fiancée. Will the connection they once had still exist? Will she ever be able to move on from the broken heart he left her with? And the biggest question of all… Will she be able to stick to her golden rule?

This was a really great read. I loved the previous 2 books and had liked Elissa’s character in those stories, but I have to say I loved her even more when I got to know her. This is very much a second chance, love triangle romance with a twist. I’m not going to say much more as I wouldn’t want to spoil the read for you, but I found the storyline pretty unique and very current given society’s general obsession with celebrities and their private lives.

I find Leisa Rayven’s writing really fun and easy to read. I think she explores characters well, adding just the right amount of humour alongside emotion to make it a book that really captures your imagination and heart. It isn’t a book filled out by unnecessary sex, but is a book that will make your heart flutter in the nicest possible way.

If you read the previous books then jump on this one for sure. But for anyone looking for a new romance author Leisa Rayven is definitely someone you need to be 1-clicking. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
